His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, Governor of Bayelsa State, led top members of the PDP and delegates from Bayelsa State to Eagles Square, venue of the ongoing National Convention of the party.

Former Governor, Senator Seriake Dickson, Senator Moses Cleopas, other National Assembly Members, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abraham Ingobere, State Chairman of the party, Mr. Solomon Agwana, Party Secretary, Gesiye Isowo, members of the State Assembly, Local Government Chairmen and others are delegates.

Mr. Daniel Woyengikuro of Bayelsa State is the sole candidate for the position of National Financial Secretary in the election.

In an opening remarks, the Chairman of the PDP National Convention Planning Committee, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State welcomes all delegates and party leaders to the convention and assured that the PDP would bring fresh air to Nigeria.

"On behalf of the 2021 National Convention Committee, I welcome everyone to the National Convention of our great Party, PDP.  A party formed 23 years ago and founded on the vision and ideals of freedom and courage. 

Nigeria today is passing through a gloomy phase. The state of the nation could best be described as near comatose. 

The nation's human rights record is appalling.The nation's economiy is on a steady slide but we are on a rescue mission and Nigerians."
